Rockness 2011
RockNess is an annual music festival which takes place in Scotland at Clune Farm, Dores, on the banks of Loch Ness near Inverness. The first Rockness festival took place on 24 June 2006 and has grown in size every year since.
The festival is known as "the most beautiful festival in the world "and" the only festival with its own monster" due to its beautiful location at Loch Ness which is the alleged home of the mythical Loch Ness Monster.
I definitely think its one to look out for and eventually will be T in The Park's main competition.

The Kleptocrats
I've recently started playing drums for a local band back home called The Kleptocrats. It is an indie / rock band. We headlined Maggie Mays in Glasgow quite recently and the gig went really well with over 50 people coming to see us play (including Paolo Nutini).Due to this success we have been invited to play again on the 21st of May to support a new up and coming band called juno and the Mook.

Their managers a promoter in Wrexham and a radio DJ and he has offered us air time on his radio show plus a gig in Wrexham is we were interested. So we are looking to record in the next month so music will be up on our Myspace as soon as possible so keep posted. We love gigging anywhere across Scotland so if any promoters are looking for a band to play a lively set then just send us a message.

COLD WAR KIDS - WE USED TO VACATION
I saw Cold war kids at the Garage. It is quite a small venue, but for the type of music they played it worked. it was very civilised, people were there just for the music.
Cold War Kids are an American indie rock band from California. Band members are Nathan Willett (vocals, piano and guitar), Jonnie Russell (guitar, vocals and keyboard), Matt Maust (bass guitar), and Matt Aveiro (drums, percussion).
Cold war kids have recently produced a new album its called "Mine is Yours" , give it a listen if you get the time.

Wolfgang Gartner @ the Arches
I went to the Arches on Friday to see Wolfgang Gartner as a part of "Colours" which is an organised gig night. I had never really heard of him before until my flatmate dragged me out. His energetic style, blended with equal parts electro and indie dance rock,
So I went to the Arches to find out whether Wolfgang Gartner, one of the most talented and forward-thinking exponents of electro house, could rock the Glasgow venue hard enough to make me forget that I was paying 6 pounds for a beer.
As soon as you entered the venue it just looked like an empty warehouse which added to the atmosphere. Gartner came on around 2 a.m. and took no time in getting down to business with an energetic first half hour of percussive funked-up techno and new electro house.
I really enjoyed the gig and it is rumoured that he might be playing the next colours event also so have a look out I recommend it if you like a good rave and don't mind the occasional over priced drink spilt on you.
http://colours.co.uk/html/ - link to the official website , will keep you posted on a regular basis on who's playing and when and also sells tickets online.
